Photo to WEBP Converter

Shrink photos (JPG, PNG) for faster loading with iLoveIMG's free WEBP converter. Superior quality, smaller size and batch processing.

In today's fast paced world, website loading speed is king. Large images slow down your website, which increases the error rate and worsens the user experience. Enter WebP, a sophisticated image format developed by Google that compresses better than JPG and PNG, all while maintaining excellent image quality. What to do with your old images? Use iLoveIMG! This easy-to-use online tool makes JPG to WebP conversion quick and easy. Just upload your images, click "Convert" and iLoveIMG will take care of the rest.

Supported Formats

Common Image Formats: Easily convert lesser-used formats like JPG, PNG, JPEG, and ICO (icon).

More Options: Currently, iLoveIMG cannot convert SVG or AVIF directly to WebP. But you can first convert them to a supported format like PNG and then convert them to WebP.

Batch Processing

iLoveIMG allows you to convert multiple photos and images to WebP at once. This is great for optimizing large photo galleries or website image collections, as it saves you a lot of time rather than converting each image separately. You can convert 20 images at once.

Quality and Size

WebP is a modern image format that offers faster loading times and smaller file sizes than JPEG and PNG. iLoveIMG lets you convert your images to WebP with two different conversion options:

1) Lossless Conversion:

Advantages:

  • Preserves the quality of the original image.
  • Perfect for websites where image quality is important.

Disadvantages:

  • WebP file size may be a bit large.

Example: If you're converting images to WebP for a blog post, you'll want to choose a lossless conversion so that your images remain high quality.

2) Detrimental Conversion:

Advantages:

  • Provides high compression, which reduces file size.
  • Perfect for websites where loading time is important.

Disadvantages:

  • Image quality may vary slightly.

Example: If you are converting an image to WebP to post on social media, you may choose a lossy conversion because a smaller file size will reduce loading time.

Note: iLoveIMG allows you to preview the resulting image quality before downloading, so you can see how much quality you'll lose when you choose a lossy conversion.
